Michi-GUN History

In 1975 our company was founded by Robert and Shirley Barch.  After skipping school at age ten to work at a Detroit area gun shop and continually working at sporting goods stores and gun clubs for twenty years, minus the time he spent in the army, Bob figured it was time to open a sporting goods store of his own.  However, eventually he got out of tackle and archery and stuck to his true love, firearms.  With fifty years of experience himself Bob has shared friendships with such industry greats as Bill Ruger, Roy Weatherby, Bob Mileck and many others.

Richard, Bob and Shirley's son, is also an instrumental part of the business.  You could say that Richard was "born into" the industry.  With an absolute passion for hunting and firearms, Richard is not only a skilled hunter and shooter, but is also a respected figure in our industry.

Bob's first "motto" printed on his early business cards was: "We aim to please!"  Today, more than thirty years later, we still do!
